The Socialist Group has presented allegations against the budget of the Teguise City Council, initially approved in the last plenary session with the exclusive votes of the government of the Canarian Coalition (CC), Popular Party (PP) and Vox.

The socialists, who describe the budget as "disappointing", include in their allegations increasing the economic items for housing rehabilitation, study grants, works in schools or enabling resources to start the revision of the General Plan.

"It is our moral obligation, especially when the current municipal government did not allow amendments to be presented to these disappointing accounts, without ambition and far from what our municipality needs," says socialist spokesman Marcos Bergaz.

"No, present allegations," Bergaz recalls "that was the government's response, in the words of the mayor and Finance Councilor, Olivia Duque, with the complicity of her partners PP and Vox, when we asked about the possibility of amending the accounts." The Socialist Team takes up the gauntlet "and we do so to try to correct them at least partially."

"They are certainly not, neither in form nor in substance, the budgets that we would have designed: because they are continuist, because of the decrease in investments and because of the null participation of the opposition parties - the councilor underlines -, but we are consistent with the useful and responsible opposition that we exercise, hence the corrective proposals that we present."

"We are going to try through the procedure of allegations, although we greatly fear that they will reject each and every one of these initiatives: they will discard the proposed increases in areas such as housing rehabilitation aid, education, sports, women, agriculture or the enabling of resources for the revision of the general plan, but for our part we can only try," highlights the socialist councilor.

To conclude, Bergaz assures that, "in order to facilitate the admission of the allegations, estimated at more than half a million euros, these would be financed via a reduction of economic items such as advertising, propaganda and promotion, contingency fund or concretion of generic applications of the budget."
