The councilors of the Popular Party in the Yaiza City Council, Juan Monzón and Guayo Rodríguez, warned this Saturday of the presence of a stream of sewage in an area near the Pechiguera Lighthouse, in Playa Blanca. A problem that, unfortunately, “is not isolated”, since, according to the municipal spokesperson, Juan Monzón, “they occur recurrently in different parts of the southern town.”
The popular mayor regrets that the Yaiza City Council does not have greater control and monitoring of this type of illegal dumping that is occurring on the coast, with the damage and bad image that is offered to users of the beaches and other bathing areas.

The spills, which appear to be coming from a nearby tourist establishment, have been occurring throughout the morning without this space being properly signposted so far, which has caused complaints from some bathers who were surprised by the spill of foul-smelling water. Complaints that also extend to the presence of a large container crammed with garbage bags and other waste in the vicinity.
