The Popular Party of Yaiza, through its municipal spokesperson Juan Monzón, publicly denounces the "terrible state" of the maritime avenue of Playa Blanca, specifically in the section that runs at the height of Playa Flamingo, one of the busiest areas of the municipality for residents and tourists.
"The paving is completely deteriorated in many places, raised in others, generating an obvious risk for pedestrians," Monzón pointed out. "We cannot allow such an emblematic area of the municipality, which is also one of our main calling cards as a tourist destination, to be in these conditions," he continued.
To this deterioration of the pavement "are added other elements of abandonment such as fallen lampposts in the gardens, the odd pothole, the protection chains in the viewpoint dragging on the ground, which has led to its closure and an evident general neglect that does not correspond to the image that a first-rate tourist destination such as Yaiza and, in particular, Playa Blanca should offer".
From the Popular Party of Yaiza, they demand "the immediate execution of a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of the promenade, which contemplates the improvement of the paving, the replacement of street furniture and the aesthetic recovery of the environment".
"It is inadmissible that the mayor is more concerned with island issues than with solving the problems that affect the daily lives of residents. Municipal management is paralyzed, and this neglect has visible consequences such as this, which damage both the image of our municipality and the quality of life of those who live and work here," added Monzón.
From the PP, the government group is urged to "act with urgency and responsibility, and to prioritize the attention of the municipality's infrastructure and public spaces." "You cannot continue to ignore a situation that is obvious to anyone who walks along this promenade," concludes the popular spokesperson.
