The Popular Party of Tías regrets the "dereliction of duty" that Mayor José Juan Cruz is carrying out by "not attending the assemblies of the Island Water Consortium" of which he is a member together with the Cabildo and the rest of the island's municipalities.

The Populars consider it an "irresponsibility" that the mayor is "leaving the municipality out of decision-making" as if the problem that exists with water in Lanzarote "was not with the residents of Tías." In this sense, they reproach the mayor for "again being absent from the meeting this Saturday" and that "not even another member of the government group attended it on behalf of the city council."

Likewise, they remind the socialist government of the “social and political responsibility” they have with the residents of Tías and with the citizens of the island when it comes to “adopting measures and seeking a solution to the problem” of water for which, obviously, they are “co-responsible.”

From the Popular Party they urge Cruz Saavedra to "stop acting in a partisan way because if something requires this emergency situation it is the consensus, involvement and effort of all".
