The Popular Party of Tías denounces the "neglect" suffered by Canarian wrestling in the municipality "by the Group made up of PSOE and Podemos." The popular representatives state that "with an eye already on the new season, the Unión Sur Tías has not yet received the nominated subsidy of 50,000 euros that should have helped the wrestling club to cover the expenses of last season."
Thus, they reveal that the situation "is causing damage to the entity, as the club and some of its wrestlers have denounced on their social networks, who have made public their discomfort after the agreements with the club have been breached due to the delay in the payment of the subsidy by the City Council."
The opposition party adds that "this situation is also added to the regrettable episode experienced recently in the Conil festivities, in which during a fight organized by the City Council itself, a fighter who was seriously injured in the knee had to wait almost an hour for the ambulance to arrive, as the City Council had not foreseen the presence of a unit at the scene."
From the PP of Tías they consider that "this accumulation of incidents is the result of a terrible management, marked by negligence and lack of foresight." Despite having had up to four people in charge in this area since 2019 —Mame Fernández, Sergio García, the mayor José Juan Cruz himself and the new councilor Ismael Cruz—, the PP considers that "none has been able to respond to the needs of municipal sports."
The leader of the popular representatives in the municipality, Francisco Aparicio, has criticized "the lack of commitment of PSOE and Podemos" to the native sport: “The management of PSOE and Podemos has demonstrated a worrying lack of attention to Canarian wrestling and the rest of the clubs. We cannot allow our sport to continue to be ignored and mistreated,” says Aparicio. “It is time to demand a real change and firm support for our traditions and those who represent our culture,” he adds.
From the Popular Party of Tías they demand that "the non-payment of the subsidy to the Unión Sur Tías Wrestling Club be ended, and that it be paid in a timely manner."
