The Popular Party Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote describes as “very bad news” the ruling contained in the judgment of the Contentious-Administrative Court number 5 of Las Palmas by which they point out that "the second test of the call for the selection process for the reserve lists of administrative assistant is annulled, considering that the practical exercise was not carried out in accordance with the Law.”
From the PP they explain that the ruling forces the institution, "not only to go back to that second test and repeat it, but also, and consequently, the definitive list of approved, selected candidates, resolved by the Selection Tribunal in September 2020 is annulled.”
For the popular, this fact supposes an “important setback” for the corporation, since throughout this time personnel from these lists have been incorporated into the Cabildo to provide services temporarily or on an interim basis in the category of administrative assistant in different departments. "In this regard, the island government has opted to preserve and maintain the appointments of interim civil servants and temporary employment contracts, only for the time or duration fixed in each appointment or contract,” says Jacobo Medina.
“In the same way, the town councils or Cabildos of other islands, with which we maintain an agreement, will not be able to resort to these reserve lists for the moment, which means a loss of additional opportunities for the candidates who managed to pass the call,” explains Medina, who highlights "the valuable time that has been lost in this important call due to the lack of personnel that some departments have."
“Even so, the most important thing is that the error can be corrected and that all candidates enjoy the same opportunities, which after all is what matters most in a public job call,” concludes Medina.
