"The management of the municipal government of Tinajo is proving to be very inefficient." This is how forceful the PP councilor in this City Council, Carmen Rosa Pérez, has been, who has criticized that the 2011 budgets have been approved a few days before the end of the year. "In these difficult economic times in which we find ourselves, the government group should act more quickly," said Pérez, who regretted that "the government team has turned something that should be an exception into a habitual practice."

The PP councilor cannot explain how it is possible that despite the broad majority that CC enjoys in this City Council, "the government team works on a daily basis, without any kind of foresight." The PP has denounced "the passivity and the little importance" with which the mayor, Jesús Machín, has let the opportunity to take advantage of the funds of the Local Credit Institute (ICO) pass to attend to the payment to suppliers for not having approved the 2012 budgets.

Carmen Rosa Pérez has pointed out that, "although the 100,000 euros that corresponded to Tinajo only represent 5 percent of the total debt that the City Council has with suppliers", "in no case can any amount be disregarded, especially when small and medium-sized companies are, precisely, the ones that are being most punished by the crisis."

The councilor has recalled that the City Council has a recognized debt with suppliers of more than 2 million euros. An economic situation that, according to the councilor, is "absolutely unsustainable for a municipality of only 5,600 inhabitants."

Carmen Rosa Pérez has also reported that in the municipal plenary session of Tinajo, held this week, the management audit of the 2010 financial year of the Canarian Municipal Financing Fund was made known. "Although it recognizes the work that the Corporation is doing in relation to tax collection management and fiscal effort, it does highlight the non-compliance with other parameters such as long-term debt," she said.
