The Popular Party of Yaiza denounces what it considers a “irresponsibility” and a manifest “incompetence” of the government presided over by Oscar Noda, which has been unable to execute the subsidy of 1 million euros that the City Council received from the Canarian Housing Institute in 2022.
The aforementioned subsidy is part of the project to combat depopulation in the rural environment of the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020-2025. The request made by the council was processed, specifically, for the modality of rehabilitation of private homes in the municipality.
The Populars assure that the negligence of the municipal government when materializing the aid has prevented the neighbors from benefiting from it, “precisely in a municipality that if something suffers from is housing, so it is unforgivable that a single euro is not invested”. “We are not talking about any minor amount, but about one million euros that could have benefited many families who do not have the necessary economic resources to adapt their homes”, says the PP councilor, Guayo Rodríguez.
The PP highlights the incompetence of the government of Oscar Noda, who once again has been “unable to manage their own initiatives and who survives by selling inherited projects, and the return of this million euros is a new example of this”.
