The Arrecife City Council has decreed the closure of two establishments, located in the neighborhoods of Titerroy and Argana Alta, which were operating without the required municipal licenses. The plenary session held this morning, at the proposal of the Department of Infractions, agreed to impose 30,002 euros in sanctions, at a rate of 15,001 euros to each company.

The closure file was initiated following alerts from residents in the Argana Alta (Diseminado area) and Titerroy neighborhoods, where they reported to the Arrecife City Council the disturbances caused by these activities. The Local Police of Arrecife inspected each establishment and confirmed that they lacked the mandatory enabling title (municipal license) for carrying out both activities, classified as regulated activities.

In the Titerroy neighborhood, on Tinamala street, a laundry and cleaning area operated, which with the plenary agreement of this Friday, its closure has been decreed and the imposition of an administrative fine of 15,001 euros for being legally considered a very serious classification, in accordance with article 62 of Law 7/2011, on Classified Activities.

The establishment shut down in the Argana Alta neighborhood, in the Diseminado area, was dedicated to the “recycling, storage, and handling of scrap metal and vehicle remains” also lacking the necessary municipal license (enabling title).

The Local Police, after being aware of these alerts from residents due to the disturbances they caused, inspected both establishments and initiated the respective reports for processing by the Department of Infractions for their submission, which, due to the high amounts, it is the municipal plenary that has the power to agree to their closures and approval and imposition of economic sanctions.
