The Dutch low-cost airline Transavia, which connects Lanzarote with Paris four times a week and with the Netherlands six times a week, will cancel flights in May and June due to the increase in the price of kerosene.
The airline, which belongs to the Air France-KLM group, has explained that the cancellations will affect about 2% of its total schedule and that the objective is to “adapt its flight program”. In practice, cut routes that are becoming commercially unattractive due to the rise in fuel.
In the cuts proposed by Transavia there are no specific mentions of Lanzarote, but it is likely that it will be affected at least indirectly with schedule changes or one less frequency.
Transavia has four weekly flights scheduled this summer between Lanzarote and the Parisian airport of Orly every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday this summer.
As for the Netherlands, the low-cost airline has three weekly connections between Lanzarote and Amsterdam every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and another three with Eindhoven on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
