The past election night of Sunday, May 28, has ended with "a bittersweet feeling" for the Popular Party in Arrecife. These have been the sensations of Astrid Pérez after learning of the good result obtained by the PSOE in the city. All expectations were placed on the PP, so much so that the populars "intended to win the elections in the City Council and we were convinced of it", says Pérez.
Despite this, it has positioned itself as the second political force, obtaining seven councilors (one more than in 2019) and 24.16% of the votes, something with which they are happy "delighted to have gained a councilor", says the candidate for mayor. Data with which she also confirmed her hope: "We have gained more than 1,000 votes compared to 2019 and that is a lot of votes."
"The PP has advanced in all the municipalities of Lanzarote", confesses the candidate for mayor of Arrecife proudly.
With 42.04% participation in these 28M elections, during her speech at the PP headquarters in Arrecife, she made the party's mission clear: "we are not going to give up and we are going to govern to move our island forward." In addition, she takes stock of these four years of mandate: "the work has begun to be seen in the city, it has not been easy after the year of pandemic we have had."
"It has been a very hard work these four years, you have to be very blind not to see it"
In statements to La Voz, she has reaffirmed her commitment to Arrecife during these years of government, "it has been a very hard work these four years, you have to be very blind not to see it," confesses Astrid Pérez.
The PP in Tías drops and obtains two councilors less than in the 2019 elections, remaining with seven councilors. With a total of 1,646 votes and 28.32%.
