The Iberia flight covering the Lanzarote-Madrid route has suffered a delay in its departure this Monday during the strike day. The flight was scheduled to take off at 11:45 a.m. and finally passengers will not be able to board until 1:00 p.m.
Beyond this delay, Iberia has assured that flights to the islands, both the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, "are protected," so there will be no cancellations during this strike. According to the company, by 11:00 a.m., 54 of the 135 flights that Iberia has scheduled for this Monday had already departed, once those canceled due to this strike were discounted.
So far, according to the company, "all minimum services are being met." In addition, it has assured that "no significant incidents have occurred at the airports, and the flights protected by the minimum services are operating as planned."
It has also reminded that it has enabled a special free telephone number to expedite queries regarding Iberia flights, 900 100 480, which is added to the usual 902 400 500, both available 24 hours a day.
This is the first day of strike in a series of stoppages that will last until Friday the 22nd. The company's employees have been called to 15 days of strike in February and March.
