"Low-latitude loess: past and present" is the title of the seminar that The House of Volcanoes will develop on the transfer and deposition of materials and how these are a crucial factor for research on climate change and ice ages that have developed throughout history.
This initiative aims to take advantage of the geographical proximity of the island to the Sahara desert, as it provides 50 percent of the materials dragged and deposited.
The course is sponsored by UNESCO, the German universities of Bayreuth and Technical and the British Oxford and the results will be published in a renowned scientific journal, Quaternary International.
