The workers of the home help service of the Teguise City Council have two new cars acquired by the Corporation, to carry out their tasks in the municipality. This material improvement, according to reports from the City Council, "is recent, and is sponsored by the intervention of the head of the Department of Social Welfare, María José Costa".

"In the development of our daily work, this was one of the main deficiencies - due to the limited availability of cars - that the social unit that cares for elderly people with little autonomy in their homes had. Therefore, it was one of the first issues we solved when we arrived at Social Welfare," Costa adds.

The home help service, operating in Teguise since 1987, currently maintains 10 professionals providing basic care and facilitates assistance to 40 men and women throughout the local geography.
