The La Destila school cafeteria will be operational "in April." At least that is the objective of the Government of the Canary Islands, according to the general director of Centers, Infrastructure and Educational Promotion, Laly González, who visited the educational center this Friday, accompanied by the island director of Education, Celeste Callero.
"The cafeteria works are almost complete, only the company needs to change a fryer," said González, who explained that the service will be launched through "direct management." "This year, we are not going to wait until next year, the goal is for it to be operational in April," she added.
Likewise, the general director of Centers, Infrastructure and Educational Promotion of the Government of the Canary Islands has confirmed that La Destila "no longer has construction electricity." "Today is a day of good news," she said.
And, Laly González has also announced the removal of all the modular classrooms that were installed in the San Francisco Javier neighborhood to accommodate the students of La Destila while the new school was being built. "On Monday they will take ours, the ones that are owned, because the rented ones, which were ten, we already removed them at the time," she said in this regard.
Problems with the works of the CEO Playa Blanca
After the visit to the La Destila school, the general director of Centers, Infrastructure and Educational Promotion traveled to Haría to check the status of the works of the IES, which she said are "at 61%".
Also, throughout the morning, Laly González will visit the works of the CEO of Playa Blanca, which in this case she pointed out are "at 50%". Regarding these works, the general director of Centers, Infrastructure and Educational Promotion has also revealed that "a problem" has arisen. And, the company awarded the contract has reported difficulties in finding qualified personnel on the island.
"And of course, if they come from other islands, they have the added problem of the high rents we have. Now we will see. Our goal is to finish it as soon as possible and we are working to ensure that all this ends on time, but we have to be realistic that, with this problem, it may be delayed"
