The firefighters of Lanzarote rise as the best technical team in the world and third in the general classification in the WRC 2024

 

The extrication team of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote also achieved second place in the triage maneuver and third in the critical maneuver

The vehicle extrication team of the Security and Emergency Consortium performed a great performance in the World Rescue Challenge that was held in Azores, Portugal, rising as the best technical team in the world and finishing in third place in the general classification.

In addition, the Lanzarote team also achieved second place in the triage maneuver and a third place in the critical maneuver, thus closing its great performance in the world championship, which they accessed by finishing in second position in the National Rescue Meeting in Traffic Accidents held in A Coruña.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, assured that this third place in the general classification and the title of best technical team in the world in the World Rescue Challenge "represent an immense pride for Lanzarote. We congratulate each member of the team for this achievement, which highlights the level of excellence and commitment of our emergency professionals. This achievement motivates us to continue supporting the people who, day after day, ensure our safety," added the president.

For his part, the councilor and president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Francisco J. Aparicio, wanted to express his "most sincere congratulations and admiration to our team, which has proven to be one of the best in the world. Their work in the World Rescue Challenge has stood out for its technical precision and teamwork, essential qualities in our daily mission to save lives. These results confirm that Lanzarote has one of the most prepared emergency services, and we will continue to bet on offering them the resources and support necessary to continue excelling in their work and in future international competitions," he said.

The Lanzarote team was represented by firefighters Chedey Tanausú Rodríguez Quintero, Rubén Tomás Guerra Rodríguez, Roberto Iván Betancort Corujo, Yoné Echedey Martín Fernández, Acaymo José Rodríguez Quintero and Néstor Crespo Rodríguez, who performed a capital performance to return to Lanzarote with the third place in the World Rescue Challenge 2024.
