The César Manrique Foundation announced this Friday that it will appeal the ruling issued by the Contentious-Administrative Court No. 2 of Las Palmas, an order that considers[inadmissible the appeal filed by the FCM against the license granted by the mayor of Yaiza for the construction of a hotel on plots 3 and 4 of the Las Coloradas Partial Plan->http://www.lavozdelanzarote.com/article.php3?id_article=4899].

The Foundation adds that the recent ruling is not final, so the institution that bears the name of César Manrique announces that it will appeal it.

According to the institution chaired by José Juan Ramírez, the ruling declares "exclusively inadmissible the appeal against the license presented by the FCM for reasons of being out of time, as the court considers that it has been presented outside the deadline set by the Law. However, according to the Foundation's writing, the ruling does not in any case resolve the merits of the case, a case, on the other hand, that is still alive as the same license has been appealed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote since 2003.

Therefore, we will have to wait for the Court to rule on the legality of that license granted by the mayor of Yaiza, José Francisco Reyes, for the construction of the hotel in Playa Blanca, which in the Foundation's opinion allegedly infringes the Moratorium or revision of the Island Plan of Lanzarote (PIOL).

The FCM statement adds that the Foundation will continue in the lawsuits, and that has always been its intention, as guarantor, before society, that the non-compliance with the Moratorium is pursued and progress is made in controlling the growth of the tourist accommodation offer on the Island, in accordance with the urban and territorial provisions in force.
