The Nueva Canarias project “Cuidar el Norte” will be debated in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, after being registered in the form of a Non-Law Proposal (PNL) by the Gran Canaria deputy of the formation, María Esther González.
“Taking part of this project to the Parliament of the Canary Islands for its debate and approval is to verify that the problems and deficiencies presented by Lanzarote and La Graciosa can be worked on, debated and, why not, resolved, if there is a clear and constant work sheet”, said the promoter of this initiative, Yoné Caraballo.
Similarly, Marcos Lemes, local spokesperson for NC in Haría, feels that “the work of listening, planning and action that is being carried out by NC is having its results”. “It is an opportunity for the real problems that the north of Lanzarote presents in terms of public services such as health and dependency to be visualized for the first time in the Parliament of the Canary Islands”, he adds.
For the Canarianists, “Cuidar el Norte” represents “an advance in equity and access to public services for all Lanzarote residents, from a rigorous analysis of the challenges and opportunities that the island's society maintains in a comprehensive manner.”
“The Island-Home that NC imagines is a space for coexistence where public services are strongly endowed and accessible. It is about bringing services closer to citizens and not having them go to them. A matter of territory, population and public policies”, Yoné Caraballo concludes.
About “Cuidar el Norte”
From NC they remember that the PNL intends to urge the Government of the Canary Islands to “carry out the appropriate studies and actions for the implementation of a Continuous Care Point in the Mala office, for the 24-hour emergency service in the north of Lanzarote”.
In addition, it urges the Canarian executive to provide a nursing professional for the current Basic Life Support ambulance based in Arrieta, thus converting it into a "sanitized" ambulance.
