The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, have expressed themselves as "very satisfied" after the announcement that this Thursday the works will start for the construction of the stone walls that will reinforce the slopes of the LZ-3, as it passes through the capital's neighborhood of Maneje, which were not executed in the work of the Arrecife Ring Road.
According to both leaders, “these works, financed by the Government of the Canary Islands, will put an end to a historical neighborhood demand”. In this sense, Dolores Corujo highlighted “the commitment of the regional Executive to execute this project, through the public company Tragsa, thus attending to a claim not only by the affected neighbors but also by the current Government group”.
For his part, the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, stated that “the execution of these stone walls will end one of the most important deficiencies that the residents of Maneje still suffered in terms of roads”.
“After many years of demanding solutions to undertake these works urgently, we finally managed to get the Government to reinforce the earth and stone slopes of these lanes of the Arrecife Ring Road with retaining walls, guaranteeing safety”, Medina stressed.
The works, whose budget amounts to 700,000 euros, will last approximately ten weeks and will focus on kilometer points 2+235 and 3+710 of the Ring Road. From the Public Works area they communicate that, although this road will not suffer traffic cuts while the works last, drivers are asked to take extreme precautions.
