The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, has signed a municipal decree to prohibit glass cups at the most important festivals of the Carmen festivities, scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, August 9 and 10, in the Plaza del Varadero, from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
The decree, according to the City Council, is based on the security measures defined in the Self-Protection Plan of the aforementioned festivities and the agreements reached in the Local Security Board.
Therefore, those responsible for the establishments located in the El Varadero area are urged to prevent their users from leaving the premises or remaining outside carrying glass containers or cans, "all with the aim of reducing the risks that may arise from the development of disturbances of public order and guarantee the safety of the attending public."
To this end, the mayor has requested the "cooperation and necessary attention to follow the instructions that the agents of the Security Forces and Corps, Local Police and Civil Guard provide them before, during and after the development of the event."
