The Tías City Council is building a new exterior enclosure for the Tías Sports City. The current wall in the west area of the municipal sports center, built decades ago, was demolished this Tuesday to give way to a new one that will incorporate a new access door to the field, more accessible for people with reduced mobility.
The Municipal Government group (PP and CC) is promoting this new work within the global improvements that are being carried out in the entire sports center of the municipality. This phase is awarded to the company Lanzagrava and endowed with an investment of close to 222,000 euros. With this work, according to the City Council, "it will be possible for the Tías Sports City to debut at the beginning of autumn, with the next sports season, a more renovated image, with a new architectural design in its exteriors and new more accessible accesses, with more parking spaces for people with reduced mobility".
These works on the new exterior enclosure are added to the phase of work completed last June with the asphalt of the new surface, which will be used for the creation of new parking spaces on the outside of the Tías Sports City, specially equipped for people with disabilities.

The Department of Sports of the Tías City Council, under the direction of the councilor Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancort, is launching these new modernization works in the municipal sports center, which will be joined by three new ones in the bidding phase. The current works are focusing on an area of approximately 5,000 square meters of the exterior esplanade and an enclosure of the perimeter wall of 118.70 linear meters. According to the Tías City Council, the government team of Mayor Pancho Hernández has programmed the works "in this summer period to coincide with the sports break for the summer and safely favor the execution of the reforms, avoiding inconveniences to the sports teams that use these facilities for their training and matches".
Under a project by the architect Juana María Guadalupe Rodríguez, the Tías Sports City is being renovated on its south and west facades. According to the technical report, "the exterior conditioning works are aimed at providing clarity in the routes and connections between the different buildings that coexist in the area of the municipal sports center, which will have a new enclosure for the soccer field due to the deterioration of the passage of time and the inadequate choice of the type of enclosure executed in its day, more than two decades ago, as it is a vibrated concrete block factory wall, which is supporting the pressure that the containment of land implies in its back".
The aim of the new intervention is to "replace, mainly for security reasons, the entire enclosure wall on its southern boundary; demolish some elements attached to the wall, which today have no functionality, such as the access staircase located at the south-eastern end; and condition the two open-air parking esplanades with which the Sports City has for greater use and organization".
The works will have to be completed in three months
The construction company Lanzagrava has been awarded this phase of works with an investment of 218,802.58 euros, without IGIC. The works went out to tender at the end of last March for 224,412.91 euros, without IGIC. The company has three months to complete this phase of new works.
Parallel to these works of new accessibility and exterior enclosure of the Tías Sports City, the Department of Sports of the Tías City Council is in the process of improving the public toilets of the Tías Sports Center and the construction of an interior parking lot with about 60 spaces. Both actions, together with the current works, amount to an investment of approximately 500,000 euros.
The Government group of Tías (PP and CC) plans to invest close to 3 million euros in new sports equipment in these next two years, within the new Municipal Public Works Plan that was announced last week and endowed with 10 million euros.
