The Teguise City Council, through the Department of Sports, in collaboration with the Roads and Works area, has obtained financing from the Government of the Canary Islands to undertake the remodeling of the sports courts located on Panamá and La Laguna streets, in Costa Teguise. The improvement works will begin shortly and "represent a further step in the municipality's commitment to promote sport and improve sports infrastructure."
Mayor Olivia Duque underlines the importance of continuing to invest in infrastructure that favors the well-being of the population. “Our priority is to improve public services and facilities throughout the municipality, and this action is a clear example of this,” she says. Likewise, the first mayor thanks the Minister of Sports, Poli Suárez, "for his involvement and commitment to the Canary Islands municipalities."
In this sense, the Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Ramírez, values this important advance for Teguise. “These facilities are essential for young people and athletes. Its renovation will allow you to enjoy quality spaces to practice sports,” he highlights.
The Department of Roads and Works of the City Council, directed by Eugenio Robayna, will add fences adapted to the regulations to the facilities, in addition to new lighting, through financing from the regional Executive.
The Municipal Council "reaffirms its commitment to sport and the well-being of citizens, thanking the joint effort between institutions to achieve this objective," they conclude.
