The Arrecife City Council has allocated 12,000 specimens of Ponsettia, better known as poinsettia or Christmas flower. The Department of Parks and Gardens of the capital's consistory has been carrying out the placement work throughout the different points of the city, including the neighborhoods.

Of the total number of specimens, 8,000 correspond to the concessionaire company, CESPA Ferrovial. The rest of the units have been acquired with resources from the City Council itself to ensure that the poinsettia reaches all corners of the capital, being placed in neighborhoods, roundabouts, planters...

This Monday, the mayoress of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, and the councilor of Parks and Gardens, Tomás Fajardo, visited the Municipal Nursery to see first-hand the installation that houses the specimens that will later be placed in the city. A small part of the poinsettias will be used for the maintenance and replacement of damaged units.

Ástrid Pérez has highlighted that "in this 2020, a hard year due to the pandemic, her government group has given priority to bringing the Christmas atmosphere to all the neighborhoods of Arrecife."

"Together with the 8,000 plant units provided by the concessionaire company, the Parks and Gardens service, the City Council has reinforced with the acquisition of 4,000 more specimens so that the parks and green areas of the neighborhoods of Arrecife can give a Christmas atmosphere."

"The mayoress has remarked that "this year, her government group, wants more than ever that the neighborhoods have Christmas lights and plants so that they feel the spirit of Christmas."

With this government group that I preside over, Ástrid Pérez has highlighted, "the neighborhoods are as important as the center of the city and we are turning to all the residents."

The councilor of Parks and Gardens, Tomás Fajardo, highlighted the "commitment of the Council to beautify the city and its green spaces. The poinsettia symbolizes the arrival of Christmas and we will place units in all parts of the city so that residents can stroll through the capital in a more pleasant environment."
