Photos: Sergio Betancort.- Fantasy, color, illusion and magic came true at the gala that took place on Friday night, in the Plaza del Varadero. Blue was one of the predominant colors thanks to the performance of the comparsa "Güimero", but "Timanfeiros" and "Sur Caliente" were also present at the ceremony. In addition, there was the participation of the drag queen "Quetzal" who encouraged the public that gathered in the Plaza del Varadero to enjoy a magical evening. The party continued until dawn with the performances of the orchestra "Leñabuena" and "DJ Nandy".
On Saturday the celebration of the Coso Carnavalero took place, which started from the Barcarola until reaching the Fariones Playa hotel, touring the Avenida de las Playas. Thousands of people, including tourists and residents, came to participate in the parade, where almost fifty floats, murgas, comparsas and mascaritas paraded showing off their best clothes. Some of the floats that participated in the Arrecife Parade were also present in the Coso del Puerto del Carmen, among which were the three winners, "Bats strike back again", Wine yes, Vinegar no" and "Pirate Fantasy". At the end of the parade, the party moved to the Plaza de Varadero where salsa music was the protagonist, thanks to the participation of the orchestras "Leñabuena", "Suso y Familia" and "DJ Nandy".
On Sunday, Puerto del Camen said goodbye to its carnival with an event dedicated, solely and exclusively, to children. The children's carnival began at six in the afternoon and was held at the Sociedad "Unión Sur" de Tías. The little ones enjoyed, in this way, that special moment in which they could transform into any fantastic character.
