The Government Council of the Canary Islands has authorized the construction of a four-star hotel in Lanzarote. Specifically, the project will be built in Costa Teguise, the tourist town of Teguise. Thus, it will have 407 accommodation places that will be distributed in 176 units.
The Law of Renovation and Tourist Modernization of the Canary Islands establishes that the new implementation of hotel and extra-hotel establishments requires the mandatory authorization of the Government of the Canary Islands, prior to the authorizations by the island councils.
The establishment must meet building quality standards and the service offered, which guarantee the minimum environmental impact in terms of, at least, water saving, noise and light pollution and waste management. In addition, it must meet the conditions of density, equipment, infrastructure and services established by regulations to configure a model of excellence and eco-efficiency to obtain quality certifications, tourist environmental management and maximum energy efficiency.
The establishment is projected on a plot of 50,600 square meters in Costa Teguise and after the authorization of the regional government must have the authorization of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
