The Cabildo of Lanzarote has launched a new edition of the program "New Employment Opportunities", through which it will hire 40 unemployed people who, for 12 months, will carry out internships in different departments of the island corporation, performing functions related to their qualifications.

The objective of this initiative "is to encourage the hiring of unemployed people to carry out work practices, preferably first-time employment, in order to improve their employability and facilitate their future insertion into the labor market", explains the Minister of Employment of the institution, Jorge Peñas.

"From the Cabildo of Lanzarote we continue to collaborate in the creation of employment and in the economic recovery of our island", adds Peñas, who highlights that "this program will allow recently qualified people to experience their first work experience, thereby improving their professional skills".
