The Cabildo of Lanzarote has launched a new edition of the New Employment Opportunities Program (NOE 2021) which will allow the hiring for the next 12 months of 45 new graduates in unemployment, three tutors and a project coordinator

The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Employment, Nerea Santana, explained in a press conference the details of this new employment project 'Lanzarote, betting on our talent', which is part of the Shock Plan for Youth Employment 2019-2021, whose cost amounts to 1,417,831.74 euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund, through the Canarian Employment Service and the Island Council.

“Within the current economic scenario in which we live, public administrations must exercise their role as engines of economic recovery, increasing public procurement of works and services, taking advantage of recovery funds to make a quantitative leap in areas as important as ecological transition, digitization or equality policies”. said Dolores Corujo.

For the island's president, “the training of our young people acquires a role of enormous relevance and the paid internship programs, such as the one we are launching from the Cabildo, are essential to acquire work experience". "The NOES, in addition to their talent, will bring fresh air and enthusiasm to this corporation”, she stressed.

During her speech, the Minister of Employment, Nerea Santana, explained that the objective of this program “is to improve the employability of the participants, university graduates or Vocational Training of middle or higher grade, providing them with a necessary work experience through internships in the Cabildo, performing functions related to their qualification and, thereby, reduce the unemployment rate of this group in Lanzarote”.
