The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Public Works area directed by Jacobo Medina, has commissioned the drafting of the transformation of José Betancort Street, a road that passes through the historic center of the Villa de Teguise.

“We have decided, after the request of the Teguise City Council, to initiate the procedures to transform one of the main arteries of the city, since it is one of the entrances to the historic center and crosses the nucleus from one side to the other”, says Jacobo Medina.

The vice president recently traveled to Teguise to see firsthand the current state of the road, on a visit he made together with the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, the first deputy mayor and head of Urban Planning, Rita Hernández, and the Councilor for Works, Eugenio Robayna.

"The main objective of the project is to adapt and modernize the road by widening the sidewalks and installing a different pavement that improves the mobility of the entire street." “We will transform this road and make it an adapted space, greener and more friendly for residents and tourists”, concludes Medina.
