The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of the Elderly, wanted to expressly recognize the permanent work carried out by the La Destila Cultural Classroom for the Second and Third Age, in Arrecife. The Institution chaired by Oswaldo Betancort also takes the opportunity to recognize and congratulate the work of the women of the group who made the Christmas card used by the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in the past festivities.
The Councilor for the Elderly and Intergenerational Relations of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Nori Machín, accompanied the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, this Thursday to personally congratulate all the women who make up the Cultural Classroom "for carrying out this beautiful Christmas card, which reflects the island's customs and traditions. This type of initiative shows the importance of betting on the active participation of our elders," said the councilor.
This entity was chosen to design the Christmas greeting card of the Canarian president, under the title "May the light that guides us always be the Canary Islands". The image shows a night scene of the journey of the three Wise Men to the portal of Bethlehem, guided by a constellation of eight stars, representing the Archipelago.

In addition, Nori Machín recalled the commitment of the Island Corporation to the well-being of people of the second and third age, with the implementation of policies that improve their health and quality of life.
The visit was also attended by the Minister of Culture of the Canarian Government, Migdalia Machín; the Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Arrecife, Echedey Eugenio, and the Councilor for the Elderly of the capital's consistory, Rosmen Quevedo.
