The Cabildo of Lanzarote makes available to La Palma all the reinforcements of its Security and Emergency Consortium in the necessary tasks after the eruption of Cumbre Vieja. A group of firefighters from Lanzarote will travel to Tenerife soon to provide possible assistance, along with an all-terrain vehicle equipped to help the inhabitants of the area.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, expresses her full support to Isla Bonita and assures that “after the eruption in the Cabeza de Vaca area, we offer all our help and support possible in the pertinent actions to guarantee the safety of the residents of La Palma”.

“The priority must be to safeguard the citizens and, in that sense, it is positive that the point of explosion is not in a populated area,” says Dolores Corujo. “For the moment, all the people close to the eruption and all those with special needs in the risk areas are evacuated, so there is caution, but tranquility,” adds the president.

“Since Friday we have prepared a team of firefighters and the vehicle enabled for the actions and everything is ready for these troops to be in La Palma for the necessary time,” details, for his part, the manager of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Enrique Espinosa.

“Currently, the activity of the volcano is being studied, as well as the seismic activity in the area, to know the best and most efficient and safe lines of action for the authorities. The cooperation between all the Islands will be key so that the eruption remains a milestone of nature,” concludes the manager.
