A man was seriously injured this Saturday, June 28, after falling from several meters high in a rocky area on the coast of Los Hervideros, in the municipality of Yaiza. The incident took place around 2:44 p.m. and has mobilized a large emergency operation coordinated by CECOES 112.
According to the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), the victim suffered a severe head injury. Due to the difficulty of accessing the place, members of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, together with rescuers from the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), had to intervene to evacuate the affected person.
After being hoisted to the aircraft and transferred to a safe area, he was assisted and stabilized by SUC personnel and later transferred in a medicalized ambulance to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
The Local Police also participated in the intervention, securing the area and requesting the action of the air resource due to the impossibility of carrying out the rescue by land with security guarantees.
