Less than 48 hours after the murder of Josué, known as 'el Conejero' and nephew of the drug trafficker José, 'el Negro', the National Police has arrested two Colombian hitmen accused of committing the crime. Josué, 38 years old and linked to drug trafficking, was shot five times in the San José de Las Longueras neighborhood, in Telde, by a motorcyclist dressed in black who managed to flee the scene. The first hypotheses point to a settling of scores between rival clans.

The investigation, led by the National Police Station, activated operation 'Cage', a large police deployment to locate the perpetrators of the crime. The device included controls in ports, airport and roads, as well as reinforced surveillance in key areas such as Jinámar. Specialized units such as Homicide, Judicial Police, Scientific Police, Civil Guard and Local Police participated in it.
