The dirt trembled again in Lanzarote with the celebration of the 4th San Antonio – Tías Slalom, an event that returned strongly to the regional motorsport calendar after its last edition in 2017. Organized by Escudería Lanzarote, the race brought together some of the best drivers in the archipelago and was valid for both the newly created Lanzarote Island Slalom Championship and the Fuerteventura-Lanzarote Inter-Island Championship, promoted by the Las Palmas Automobile Federation (FALP).

The great protagonist was the world champion driver Raúl Hernández, who, at the wheel of a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, took a resounding victory with a 10-second advantage over Juan Carlos Quintana, also aboard a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. The veteran Toñín Suárez completed the absolute podium with his Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, demonstrating once again his experience and reliability on dirt.

In the CarCross category, the spectacle was not far behind. Raúl Armas took the victory at the controls of his Speedcar Extrem, followed by J. Moisés with an MV Racing SP2. Rubén de León closed the podium after a vibrant fight for the top positions.

One of the unexpected twists of the day was starred by the current Canary Islands dirt champions, Cristian Calderín and Verónica Tejera. They were leading with their Volkswagen Golf GTI in Group B (front-wheel drive) when a track exit forced them to abandon.

In addition, the Las Palmas Provincial CarCross Championship also had a presence in the race, which led to an exciting fight between drivers from Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, further enlivening a track that gave no respite.

The return of the San Antonio – Tías Slalom not only means the recovery of a historic event, but also a clear message: dirt motorsport is still alive and growing in the Canary Islands. Lanzarote thus reaffirms its role as one of the great motor references in the archipelago.

From Escudería Lanzarote they highlight that "recovering the San Antonio Slalom is making history", also emphasizing that this event fulfills one of its main objectives: to train and consolidate a staff of local officials, timekeepers and commissioners that ensure the continuity and quality of this type of events on the island.
