The Cabildo of Lanzarote has taken a further step in its strategic plan to disseminate its cultural and leisure program with the launch of a new mobile application, APP Cultura Lanzarote. "This is a tool specifically designed to continue deepening the dissemination, and which adds to the highly accepted digital tools already existing such as the web and social networks," they point out from the Island Institution.

"Working to publicize our cultural agenda has always been a priority for the Cabildo of Lanzarote in order for it to reach all people interested in the island's culture," said the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo.

"While it is true that current affairs and reality revolve at breakneck speed, mobile applications are a fundamental support for all those who do not want to miss anything that interests them culturally," added Corujo."

During the public presentation of the APP that took place this Wednesday in the Plenary Hall of the institution, the Minister of Culture, Alberto Aguiar, stated that "the Cabildo of Lanzarote is now taking a new leap in the dissemination of culture with the launch of this new system that will allow culture to be brought closer in a direct way, disseminating the work of cultural agents in all areas and registers." "This application will result in the public's knowledge of our wide, diverse and quality offer," he concluded.

APP Cultura Lanzarote is now available for download through the various mobile application acquisition services.

Easy, dynamic and useful

The new application is especially "designed to be useful, dynamic and easy to install and use." The company in charge of its development has been Solucionet, a local company that has worked hand in hand with the Cabildo to personalize the final product and adapt it to the needs of the Culture area.

APP Cultura Lanzarote focuses on "offering the best information on the island's cultural program, with reminders, suggestions and highlights of the activities that are organized. In addition, each activity has a link for the sale of tickets, offering information on the location of the cultural infrastructures where the events are held," they report from the Cabildo.

This new way of bringing the program closer to the public "promotes interaction with the public who, from their own mobile phone, and without opening the browser, can resolve the most frequent doubts about cultural activities, such as what, when and where, as well as where to buy tickets."

The new application adds to the initiatives that the Cabildo of Lanzarote has launched in recent years to disseminate its program, bringing culture made in Lanzarote closer, and which include from the organization of events in public spaces to the creation of digital content on the area's website and social networks, such as the publication of the program in paper monthly. With this new tool, "it is expected to further increase public participation in the island's culture and reach a wider and more diverse audience", the Island Institution points out.

Technology at the service of culture

In addition to the functionalities already described, the new mobile application of the Cabildo of Lanzarote stands out for its technical efficiency. When installing the application, users are greeted by a home screen that shows the different scheduled activities, ordered in descending order according to proximity in time.

The application is updated gesturally, "with a simple upward movement similar to other applications, which makes it very fast and dynamic." In addition, if any changes are made to the cultural program, the update appears instantly and effectively. "All this is possible thanks to the software used in the development of the application, which allows a high speed of processing and constant updating of information," they conclude from the Cabildo.
