THE PSOE DENOUNCES IT, MAKING PUBLIC THE SECRETARY'S RESPONSE

"Following instructions from the president of this Corporation, attached is a copy of the report issued on January 29, 2015 by Delia Fernández". That is what the secretary of the Cabildo, Pancho Perdomo, has responded to the request registered by the PSOE, claiming all the reports made by members of the legal advice "on the expert report made by one of the lawyers" within the Stratvs case.

In their request, the socialists recalled that the president himself publicly stated that he had requested reports from the Cabildo's lawyers, after learning of Joana Macías' devastating opinion on the Special Plan of La Geria and on the Stratvs winery. San Ginés even announced that he would send a counter-report to the Court, although he finally did not. Now, the socialists denounce that only one of those reports has been given to them, when they know that there are at least two more.

One of them, signed by the island director of Planning, Miguel Ángel Santana. The other, by the head of the Island Plan Office, Leopoldo Díaz. The socialists also denounce that these reports "are in the possession of the president, with the knowledge of the secretary, before the celebration of the last Plenary, without the opposition having knowledge". During that plenary session in which San Ginés tried to approve the modification of the Plan de La Geria again, the opposition refused to do so precisely due to the lack of reports from officials of the Corporation. Even, they asked about a report by Leopoldo Díaz, without the president or the secretary mentioning that there was already one (not expressly on the modification, but on the Plan as a whole).

"It is intolerable that the president censors and decides on the reports that the councilors of the institution can access", says the socialist spokesperson in the Cabildo, Emma Cabrera. For this reason, this Monday the PSOE reiterated its request, demanding "urgently" the delivery of the other two reports that they "know" exist.

"Attack against the prosecutor" and "honorability" of the technicians

According to Emma Cabrera, "the content of these new assessments may condition the position of the political groups on the Special Plan of La Geria". "What's more", she adds, "it would have been essential to have known them before San Ginés' explanations about his attack against the prosecutor of the case, as they could shed light on the extent to which the president's defense of the honorability of the technicians varies depending on the appreciation of their reports".

The councilor refers to the complaint that the president filed last August with the Prosecutor's Office against the prosecutor of the Stratvs case, Ignacio Stampa, and which he did not inform the Cabildo about at the time. Regarding that complaint, which was "flatly rejected", San Ginés had to give explanations in the last Plenary, and assured that he did so to defend the honorability of the technicians and the councilor Francisco Fabelo.

The socialist councilor has also described as "intolerable" that the president "tells the secretary which are the reports that the councilors of the institution can access, something that in practice means hiding legal reports and therefore, censoring information that must be public for the correct exercise of oversight by the opposition".
