The Cabildo Establishes Minimum Services for Intercity Transportation, the Insular Hospital and Other Services Due to the General Strike

The Transportation Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote announces that due to the strike day, according to the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands of March 27, the minimum services for regular intercity passenger transportation are determined as 25 percent of the normal service during the hours of 6:00 to 9:00 and 18:00 to 21:00 hours, and 20 percent the rest of the hours, without prejudice to the workshop reserve for promotional breakdowns to the fixed percentage.

Similarly, the Waste and Classified Activities Area informs that both the Zonzamas Environmental Complex and the various Clean Points will remain open during their usual hours, during the announced strike day. As will be recalled, the four clean points of Lanzarote open uninterruptedly from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except Sundays and holidays, which will remain closed.

The Arrecife Clean Point is located on Avenida de los Geranios s/n, next to the Inalsa depot; the one in San Bartolomé on the Arrecife-Yaiza Highway, at kilometer point 5 (Horinsa and Lanzagrava detour); the one in Yaiza, on the Femés to Playa Blanca Highway (next to the treatment plant); and the one in Tías, on the Tías to Puerto del Carmen Highway (also next to the treatment plant).

For its part, the General Registry, the Environmental Surveillance Service, the General Secretariat and the Insular Hospital, as well as the entire care network that depends on the Cabildo of Lanzarote, will cover the minimum services with 71 workers, 9 percent of the staff, as follows. At the Insular Hospital, 37 people will work, as on Sundays or holidays. The Zonzamas Therapeutic Complex will have 6, while the C.A.D will have 3, the Zonzamas Day Center 5 and the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Unit 2.

In the Casa Cabildo, the minimum services are distributed as follows: Secretariat (2), General Registry (3), Orderlies (2), Telephone Operator (1) and Presidency (1). Meanwhile, the road service will have 6 workers and the surveillance service will have 3.
