The Cabildo of Lanzarote continues with the conditioning and improvement works of the LZ-2 road, one of the main mobility routes of the island, in the section that connects the Airport with the Shopping Center of Playa Honda, both in decreasing direction.
The Councilor for Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, points out that “the project is meeting expectations and the actions that will provide greater security to this section of great importance for the mobility of the island and that supports a high volume of traffic are progressing”.
“It is important that the condition of the roads is adequate". Therefore, from the Cabildo "we strive to make investments for its constant maintenance and improvement that benefit both the inhabitants and visitors of Lanzarote”, added the councilor.

For his part, the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, thanked the Cabildo for its collaboration and efforts in this project and expressed his satisfaction “for being close to finalizing the improvement of a vital road for the municipality and for the traffic of the entire Island, especially, "taking into account the influx of the road and that this is one of the main entrances to Lanzarote”.
The works corresponding to this action "are being carried out at night and in sections, thus avoiding the possible inconveniences that may be caused to one of the roads that registers the highest density of vehicles", clarifies the councilor.
Among the actions, "works will be carried out to improve the drainage of the asphalt so that a correct evacuation of rainwater can occur, the replacement of the existing metal barriers both on the LZ-2 from the airport and on the service road (Deiland) to comply with current regulations", they advance.
