The Cabildo and Arrecife encourage businesses to join the vouchers to help consumption

Between Lanzarote and La Graciosa, up to 6,469 vouchers will be sold out of the 80,000 that will be distributed throughout the Canary Islands, starting on April 15

The Commerce area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, led by Aroa Revelo, has encouraged merchants from Lanzarote and La Graciosa to join the archipelago consumer voucher program, which has been launched by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed of the Canary Islands Government together with the chambers of commerce of the islands.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the Councilor for Tourism and Commerce of the Arrecife City Council, Eli Merino, have also joined this initiative, encouraging businesses in the capital to join.

For her part, the island's Councilor for Commerce emphasizes that "this is the first regional consumer voucher campaign with the aim of supporting small businesses and encouraging consumption to boost the island's economy."

Businesses on the islands will be able to join the web platform until the end of the campaign, which will last for two months. The vouchers, a total of 80,000, will go on sale throughout the archipelago on April 15 to give businesses time to join the campaign. For the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, the distribution of 6,469 vouchers has been scheduled.

Thanks to this program, which has a budget of 2.5 million euros. Each participating establishment will have a maximum exchange amount of 5,000 euros and each voucher will have a value of 50 euros, of which 50% will be paid by the customer at the time of purchase of the voucher, and the other 50% will be financed by the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Government of the Canary Islands.

In this way, users only pay 25 euros, although the real value will be double, that is, 50 euros.

The establishments that will be able to participate will be those of food, electronics, IT, telephony, DIY, toy stores, party supplies, bookstores, fashion, sports, and accessories, among others.

From the Vice-Presidency and Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed of the Government of the Canary Islands, under the direction of Manuel Domínguez, this first regional consumer voucher campaign has been launched to reactivate the commercial activity of the islands. The initiative, which has a budget of 2.5 million euros, will be managed jointly by the four Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, has encouraged commercial establishments located in the municipality to join this initiative of the Government of the Canary Islands where it is intended to encourage consumption in the island's commercial sector, supporting with these vouchers a greater boost in purchases.

Similarly, the Councilor for Tourism and Commerce of the Arrecife City Council, Eli Merino, has invited companies with stores in the capital, which can also benefit the entire commercial sector of Lanzarote, La Graciosa and all the Islands of the Archipelago, to take advantage of this promotion that will enable greater consumption by families in the coming months with the help of these final vouchers.

How to acquire the vouchers

The second phase of the program will begin on Monday, April 15, 2024, from which date users will be able to acquire the vouchers through the web.

Each customer may acquire a maximum of four vouchers per person and per island, so they may acquire them on more than one island, if they wish, accessing the corresponding island through the website.

The same user can redeem several vouchers in a single purchase and also acquire vouchers on several islands. To formalize purchases, it will be necessary to present the ID before payment at the establishment, as well as the voucher in printed or digital format.
