The Department of Beaches and Environment of the Arrecife City Council, under the direction of the PP councilor Ángeles Hernández, has started this Monday work for the screening and extension of the sand on El Reducto beach.
And, according to the Consistory, since last March, after the declaration of the alert for Covid-19, the absence of users and the large high tides in these months has made possible the natural regeneration of the sand on the beaches. However, in the case of El Reducto, the sand had accumulated in the areas near the promenade and with the municipal machinery it is being extended to the intertidal zone.

The Arrecife City Council also highlights that, in recent weeks, it had intensified cleaning and disinfection work on all the beaches of the capital's coastline. Some works that are allowing the "tuning up" of the coves of Arrecife in the face of de-escalation.
After the work on El Reducto beach, the municipal staff will move to the small beaches that surround the Castle of San Gabriel to carry out the same action as the one carried out this Monday morning on El Reducto beach.
