The Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Education coordinated by Inodelvia Torres, has proceeded this Friday to pay the subsidy for students who took regulated training outside of Lanzarote during the past year 2016/2017. The grants, which were approved in plenary and had sparked criticism for arriving late, amount to a total of 151,900 euros.
The beneficiaries will be 434 students residing in the municipality who took regulated training outside of Lanzarote, and who will receive 350 euros "in the coming days".
"These grants are essential for many families. Studying outside the Island is, at times, a luxury that some families cannot afford, hence the effort to help the largest number of students possible," said the Councilor for Education, Inodelvia Torres.
The councilor has reminded that interested persons may consult the list on the announcement board of the capital Consistory or through the municipal website www.arrecife.es.
