The Arrecife City Council, through the Departments of Cleaning and Beaches respectively, has carried out work for the deep cleaning of La Arena beach, located next to the San José Castle, within the port area of influence of the Los Mármoles dock.

In recent days, agreement personnel assigned to the Departments of Roads and Works and Cleaning, under the direction of the popular councilor Roberto Herbón, have carried out a "deep" shock campaign to remove several bags with waste, including even several mattresses that had been in this small cove for some time, "very frequented" by the residents of the bordering neighborhoods, Valterra, Lloret and Altavista.

The Department of Beaches and Environment launched a shock campaign last fall to clear the entire Arrecife coastline of waste, from the Concha area (bordering the municipality of San Bartolomé) to Las Caletas, bordering the municipality of Teguise.

Among the beaches that are already "looking better and free of garbage" according to the City Council, are La Concha, El Cable, El Reducto, the beach of the Castle of San Gabriel, and now La Arena beach, next to the Castle of San José. This past spring, the Arrecife City Council also allocated several municipal brigades to clean Las Caletas beach, in the area integrated into the municipality of Arrecife.
