The Teguise City Council will resume the Costa Teguise paving plan next week, after completing the resurfacing work in La Villa, Tahíche, Nazaret and Guatiza.

The Teguise City Council will resume the Costa Teguise paving plan next week after completing the work contemplated in another paving plan executed in the municipality, consisting of the resurfacing of the urban center of La Villa, Tahíche, Nazaret and Guatiza.

Both actions are part of the Municipal Cooperation Plan financed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote with nearly 2.3 million euros, and to which the City Council has contributed approximately 500,000 euros of its own funds. The intervention in the tourist town will focus on two important arteries such as the Pitera and Laguna roads, and will also affect Real and Volcán streets.

Precisely the president of the first Island Corporation, Oswaldo Betancort, visited this Thursday the state of the asphalt works carried out, in the company of the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, the first vice president of the Lanzarote Cabildo, Jacobo Medina, and the Councilor for Roads and Works of the municipality, Eugenio Robayna.

In his visit, Oswaldo Betancort expressed "the commitment of the Cabildo" to include in future Municipal Cooperation Plans another "battery of projects that the City Council is finalizing" -according to the mayor- budgeted at an approximate amount of 15 million euros, in order to renew the paving of the main roads of the municipality.

Specifically, according to Olivia Duque, these actions "will affect around 120 streets in the towns of Soo, Muñique, Tiagua, Tao, Tomaren and Mozaga, as well as Los Valles, Teseguite and Los Cocoteros"; and in the future new projects will be added "that will contribute to the economic reactivation of our municipality", added the mayor.
