The Teguise City Council has once again activated employment policies that will reinsert 211 people from the municipality into the labor market during the first half of the year. "Thanks to agreements signed with the Canarian Employment Service, such as the Extraordinary Social Employment Program 2022-2023, called “Teguise + Environmental”; or the “Green and Social Employment” and “Works and Environment” agreements, both with the Cabildo of Lanzarote, as well as the own funds contributed by the Teguise council, the total investment between 2022 and 2023 amounts to approximately 1,726,000 euros"

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, points out that “this week the new group of people who have joined the Teguise employment plans are already working in various parts of the municipality and that they represent a job opportunity for the next six months, in which they will cover positions in different categories, destined for cleaning public roads in all rural and coastal areas of the municipality, attending to neighborhood demands, and carrying out maintenance work on socio-cultural centers, tidying up squares, parks and other outdoor spaces, in addition to serving as support for the Municipal Works Plan that is already underway”, explained the mayor, highlighting “Teguise's firm commitment to people in unemployment, which requires the hiring and execution of projects that result in a substantial improvement in the economic and labor conditions of the residents of the municipality”, concludes Betancort.
