The City Council of Teguise has contracted new services aimed at reinforcing the conservation of public spaces on the coastline, improving accessibility in sensitive areas, guaranteeing compliance with state regulations regarding safety in bathing, and maintaining the services and equipment in the coastal areas of the municipality in optimal conditions. This action has an investment of close to 800,000 euros.

This initiative "is part of the firm commitment of the government group led by the mayor Olivia Duque, who expresses her desire to consolidate a balanced, sustainable and safe municipality model." "We are taking care of what we already have, responding to historical needs and anticipating the challenges posed by a coastline as diverse as ours," she emphasizes.

"This investment is a clear sign that governing is planning, but also executing with responsibility, with a political commitment that puts the well-being of our neighbors, as well as those who choose Teguise as a destination throughout the year, at the center," says the first mayor.

For his part, the Councilor for Contracting, Javier Díaz, emphasizes that these actions not only obey a political commitment, but also a technical planning that had been preparing for months. "Today we can say that we are implementing real policies that improve the daily life of citizens," he says.

The work has been organized and coordinated through the Areas of Works and Emergencies, Eugenio Robayna, and Beaches of the City Council of Teguise, directed by Rita Hernández. Likewise, this action has been carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, through a subsidy, and with own funds from the City Council.

Actions

The municipal action includes the rehabilitation and maintenance of public sanitary facilities in various areas of the coastline and the modernization of the lifeguard service, with new equipment adapted to the technical requirements established by current legislation, dedicating an amount of 311,396 euros. The investment includes the maintenance of public bathrooms on the beaches of Las Cucharas, Bastián and El Jablillo, with a budget of 166,914 euros.

In addition, access and security will be improved in areas of habitual transit, with the installation of railings and mooring elements at entry points frequented by residents, visitors and sea professionals, investing 34,773 euros in this action.

Another of the fundamental axes of this investment has been the reinforcement of the integral maintenance of the coastal strip, especially in Costa Teguise and its surrounding areas, where the volume of pedestrian traffic and tourist pressure require constant attention. For this, 268,392 euros have been allocated to specific resources for the improvement of public infrastructures, shade areas, showers, walkways, signage and urban furniture, which will allow offering a cleaner, safer and more functional environment both in high season and during the rest of the year.

With these actions, Teguise "consolidates its position as a municipality that advances with a firm step, betting on a close, decisive administration committed to the continuous improvement of its infrastructures and public services," concludes the City Council.
