The Teguise City Council has approved this Thursday morning, February 6, in the Governing Board, the license that gives the final approval to the project presented by the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients of Lanzarote (AFA) to cover the pools enabled in the Las Cabreras Day Center for therapeutic purposes.
According to the City Council, the project to roof the two therapeutic pools of the senior center run by AFA, one of 67 square meters and another of 26.8 square meters-, presented "technical deficiencies that have been resolved", so the City Council has finally been able to grant its permission to execute a work, which involves providing the Las Cabreras Center with a climate control system for the water in the pools, which will allow users to receive different therapeutic treatments.
In addition to the rehabilitation and conditioning project of the two pools, in the facilities of the Las Cabreras Day Center, -which currently serves 50 people in the morning and afternoon hours plus 24 residents-, toilets and changing rooms have been conditioned "in compliance with current regulations".
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, celebrates that "the project has finally been approved, through a technical suitability report, necessary to prove that the works meet the requirements of current regulations, and that the pending intervention is unblocked and materialized to make a reality a project that the elderly of Lanzarote will enjoy thanks to the commendable work of AFA".
For his part, the president of AFA, Manuel Ruiz, has been "very happy about this news." "Once we have the documents in our possession, we will proceed to carry out the pending work in the same month of February," he said.
