The Teguise City Council and the Department of La Graciosa, delegated to Alicia Páez, have completed the waste removal operation, launched in the urban centers of Caleta de Sebo and Pedro Barba on the eighth island, thanks to the collaboration of the Lanzarote Cabildo and the commitment of both institutions to clean up several accumulation points of debris and pruning waste.
"The City Council had committed to managing the waste collected by the staff of the island's Employment Plan, and we have done so, removing debris and accumulated pruning remains," explained Alicia Páez. This waste, according to the City Council, came mostly from the works of the La Graciosa Sociocultural Center, an infrastructure that is about to be tendered by the City Council.
"The work of the entire cleaning and waste management team has paid off, and today the urban spaces of Caleta de Sebo, such as the football field area, already show a different image, but we continue to campaign and call for environmental awareness. "A clean La Graciosa is everyone's responsibility, both residents and people who visit us and enjoy this paradise that we must take care of as an extension of our home," said Páez.

The delegate councilor on the eighth island pointed out that "work is being done on the project of a Clean Point, which can concentrate the waste generated in La Graciosa for its subsequent management and transport to Lanzarote." "But while that is not a reality, we must respect the work of the workers who continue to clean up what others irresponsibly litter. Keeping our island clean is everyone's duty, so I continue to call for responsibility not to dump waste in our streets, as we ourselves are the first to be harmed by it," she concluded.
The City Council reminds the citizens of Teguise that there is a Green Line service, a communication channel to resolve issues related to the entire municipality, which includes the management of urban waste.
