The Teguise City Council, through the Department of Security and Emergencies, and in collaboration with the Department of the Local Police, held this Thursday the Security and Emergencies Board to "ensure and control" surveillance at the 2024 Carnivals of La Graciosa, Costa Teguise, the Teguise market and the traditional carnivals in the Villa de Teguise.

The meeting took place at the Local Police headquarters of Teguise and was convened to guarantee security at large-scale events and to ensure that all documentation is in order.

For an optimal development of the carnival program, there will be a deployment of Security Forces, with maximum coordination between the Civil Guard and the Local Police, as well as members of Civil Protection, Emerlan and the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote.

The head of Security and Emergencies of the City Council, Eugenio Robayna, has highlighted that "the safety of all those who come and want to enjoy the carnival will be ensured with a wide deployment of the security forces."

For his part, the Councilor of the Local Police, Ginés González, guarantees that "a plan will be developed that includes a detailed organization of traffic, including the streets directly affected by the different events, as well as the entrances and exits to the center and alternative parking places, aimed at keeping people safe."

Finally, the mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, thanked the security forces for their presence at this Board so that the events that take place in these carnivals turn out "as well as possible." She also stressed that "we all have to join forces so that these special and participatory parties can be for the enjoyment of all."
