The Teguise City Council, through the Cleaning Area, has awarded a cleaning company through an emergency procedure for the municipality's educational centers. This measure is due to repeated breaches by the entity AEMA. The contract has a budget of 47,668 euros and will be developed by LUMAR, S.L. until a new company is awarded to perform the service, which has already been tendered.

The mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, expresses "the importance of maintaining public facilities in good condition, especially those dedicated to the education of minors." "Our priority is the safety of the boys and girls of the municipality, and we cannot allow it to be affected by breaches of contract," she says.

In this line, the first mayor appreciates "the effort and dedication of the municipal cleaning staff and that of the AEMA company who, until now, have kept the schools of Teguise in optimal conditions."

For her part, the Councilor for Cleaning and Education, Mar Boronat, stresses that this new contract is due to repeated breaches by AEMA, and aims to always guarantee the minimum conditions of health and hygiene. "Currently, staff from said entity continue to work without receiving the corresponding salary, together with municipal workers," she adds.

In addition, Mar Boronat details that this action reinforces the cleaning staff as there is not enough personnel. "This measure is of vital importance, as they are spaces enabled for boys and girls," she clarifies. She also announces that the new contract will be published soon.

The schools that require this cleaning service from Monday to Friday are those that are listed below: the Tao infant and primary education school; the CEIP Costa Teguise; the CEIP César Manrique de Tahiche; the CEIP Alfonso Spínola de La Villa; the CEIP Guenia de Guatiza; the CEIP Los Valles; the CEIP Soo; the CEIP Caleta de Famara; the CEIP Muñique; the CEIP Ignacio Aldecoa, and the Lola Municipal Nursery.

The awarded company will be responsible for the complete management of the cleaning service of the schools, including the selective collection of waste (paper, cardboard and packaging), the separate removal of the same, depositing the bags in the containers enabled for this purpose by the Teguise City Council.

In addition, the frequency of the cleaning service will be divided into four blocks: tasks to be completed daily, alternate days from Monday to Friday, weekly and monthly.
