The Cabildo of Lanzarote has concluded the project for the repair of slopes and walls in three sections of the LZ-207 road (Arrieta-Temisa) and has reopened the road known as the Tabayesco road.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, together with the mayoress of Haría, Evelia García, inaugurated the new road this Friday, after the landslides that forced its closure in 2018 for the safety of vehicles and people.
Dolores Corujo highlighted the importance of this road for the connection with the municipality of Haría and for the accessibility of residents to the northern towns. "We are pleased that, despite the delays, we have been able to reopen this road, which has been demanded for several years by the City Council and the citizens," the president acknowledged.
The Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, highlighted that the actions consisted of the repair and improvement of the LZ-207, with the demolition, sanitation and replacement of 480 ml of pavement in the most deteriorated areas, the drainage of the ditch, the placement of new retaining walls and the execution of three sections of micropile screen.
The final budget of the work amounted to 542,436.29 euros, financed 80% by FDCAN funds and 20% by the island's Cabildo.
