Somos Lanzarote has accused the Arrecife government group of complete "incompetence and negligence" in the opening of the House of Culture, because it will be inaugurated on Thursday night "without a license."
From Somos Lanzarote they consider "completely inadmissible that, after its reopening has been delayed for more than twelve years, having made an unquantifiable public investment, the inauguration of the facilities will take place without having all the necessary legal procedures".
"It is completely inadmissible that negligence of this type continues to be repeated in the institutions in Lanzarote. The intervention in La Casa de la Cultura is just one more example of the bad political practices of the parties that have governed in the twelve years that it has remained closed, PSOE, CC, PP and PIL", they point out from Somos Lanzarote, from where they point out that "the rehabilitation process even put at risk the murals by César Manrique that are in the building." Now they have removed the recognition that had been given to Agustín de la Hoz, for no apparent reason", they add.
Likewise, the party recalls that in March they denounced "a possible political use of La Casa de la Cultura by PSOE, CC and PIL, which rejected, together with the support of the Popular Party, a motion by Somos Lanzarote so that the uses of the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture would be agreed upon between the cultural fabric of the municipality and the island."
